HTTP
HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) is the protocol used by a Web server to
communicate over the TCP/IP protocol of the Internet. HTTP allows the
transfer of HTML documents and other resources between the Web server
and the browser client. In Net jargon, it's often referred to as "HotTop" especially when used for Web addresses.
